Canto (Italian for “song”) was composed during a summer 2008 residency at the Yaddo Artist Colony in Saratoga Springs, NY. The piece is a lyrical fanfare, intended to mark the 150th anniversary of the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University.
